MATH - A GAME OF NUMBERS, LETTERS, AND THEIR POSITIONS

Dear Friend:

Math is a game of numbers, letters and positions of these numbers.

Math used to be a game of computation when calculators or computers where not available.

Now math is not just computation, but it is more than that - Application, Problem Solving and

Reasoning.

In other words, Math is about 80% Applications and Problem Solving and 20% Computation.

In modern age of calculators and computers computation is merely a piece of cake. But

problem solving is where you need to use your brain - your intelligence.

Math includes:

    *Number and Number Relations

*Computation - Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division

    *Numerical Estimation

    *Operation Concepts

*Measurement - Linear, Area, Volume, Capacity, Weight and Mass -In Customary, Decimals and Metric systems.

    *Fractions, Integers, and Percents

    *Geometry and Spatial Sense

    *Data Analysis, Statistics, and Probability

    *Patterns, Functions and Algebra

Today's modern Math require greater reading comprehension than in the past. Students

need various kinds of reading skills for Math. Without that they may be good in Computation

but poor in other areas of Math.

In Math section you are going to learn both - Computation and Problem Solving/Applications.

You may go any of the following pages.
